Republic
[CD : Released October 1996: Centaur Discs : CENCD 018]

'REPUBLIC' is a single 74 minute CD featuring three of the group’s best improvisations to date, it is a cohesive timeless collection of vital soundscapes with a huge dynamic
range, it uses only those sounds dear to their hearts and includes liberal sprinklings of the god-like Mellotron (real of course, not sampled), and a collection of analogue
synthesisers alongside their modern counterparts neither futuristic or retro, radio massacre international's music is timeless; and attempts to bring some soul and danger to
ambient music by being as scary as it is soothing. Try 'Send Off' at high volume with the lights out, or the ebullient title piece for an illustration of how hypnotic real time
sequencers can be, and if you thought electronic music couldn’t rock, try the searing electric guitar sections of 'Raw Cane Approach' (Refined ? Not this band). Come into the
forest and taste the trees.

 Time & Motion
Featuring guest musician Martin Archer on all things woodwinds, the band takes their foundation of sequencer based material and stretches out the space within the beats (and for
some the tracks on the album, there are no beats...so think about all that space!) The band is more interested in letting a scenic vibe come across, and it's one that you might
not have expected after hearing an album like Rain Falls In Gray but it's more in the vibe of Philadelphia Air Shot in the idea of taking a starting point of an idea
and letting it take control...
