this will emerge as a three disc set if you choose to burn CDs of the whole lot, & will give you some idea of the challenge we faced back in the mid 90s trying to accommodate our improvisations in a normal retail-friendly record label product of just one disc. lots of 'invisible' edits to distill the essence of each piece down to twenty minutes without losing anything. here, then, the uncut versions, & you can hear the tape running out at the end of the title track; back then a reel of tape lasted about 66 minutes, & we'd keep an eye on it whilst playing, much as one would draw a live piece to a close based on the restlessness of an audience, or call it quits on a painting as the last few squared centimetres of canvas gets its fourth daubing.

radio massacre international's sound defies categorization it is more magical than musical. the music is, first and foremost, improvisational. it is loose in structure but also searching. r.m,i. is all about generating the happy accidents that occur at the ever-changing intersection of multiple moving bodies. when two sequences converge fascinating things happen opening rhythmic and textural options that just moments before were closed to view. it is the creation and exploration of those options that dominates what r.m,i. does in its music.
