this is the quickest 'from idea to published' album you will probably ever see from r.m.i. having noticed that 11th october 2017 marks the 20th anniversary of the big 1997 concert in nijmegen about 2 hours ago, and finding that i had no desk recording, i contacted duncan who uploaded his copy and made artwork into the bargain !

so here we are 20 years ago, hitting the concert hall stage in holland at klemdag. quite a heady experience. you may already know this concert from the bridge too far release of the time....we used an ambient recording instead of the desk recording (probably because wanted the hall ambience and applause !) .

here is a much cleaner and hi-fi version which has been lurking in the vaults, and which also boasts the (unheard since the day) intro performance of 'organ harvest' which was missing from the published album altogether and which is rather nice..

so, not so much 'remastered' as 'taken from a completely different source'...ie the mixer. (steve d 00:26 11/10/2017)

radio massacre international's sound defies categorization it is more magical than musical. the music is, first and foremost, improvisational. it is loose in structure but also searching. r.m,i. is all about generating the happy accidents that occur at the ever-changing intersection of multiple moving bodies. when two sequences converge fascinating things happen opening rhythmic and textural options that just moments before were closed to view. it is the creation and exploration of those options that dominates what r.m,i. does in its music.
